As Denis Villeneuve returns to direct "Dune Messiah," the highly anticipated third installment in the "Dune" saga, which is slated to begin filming this summer, whispers of new cast additions are already circulating. Today, Deadline exclusively reported that Robert Pattinson is reportedly keen on joining the project as the major antagonist, Scytale. While Legendary Pictures has yet to formally extend an offer, sources suggest a deal is highly probable.

Pattinson previously shared the screen with Timothée Chalamet in the Netflix film "The King" several years ago, making this a potential reunion for the two actors. Beyond Pattinson, confirmed returning cast members from the first two "Dune" films include Zendaya as Chani, Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan, Anya Taylor-Joy as Alia Atreides, and Jason Momoa, who is slated to return as the ghola version of Duncan Idaho.
