BANDAI SPIRITS' Collectors Division, TAMASHII NATIONS, has announced the latest product from its transforming alloy model series, "HI-METAL R," the "VF-19P Excalibur (Planet Zola Patrol Specification)" from "Macross Dynamite 7," slated for release in September 2025.
In "Macross Dynamite 7," an OVA depicting events one year after the conclusion of "Macross 7," protagonist Basara Nekki embarks on a solitary wandering journey. Upon arriving at the frontier planet "Zola," he becomes embroiled in a conflict between the local patrol team and a poaching syndicate. An injured Basara is rescued by local girl Elma Houly, who also tells him the story of the mysterious "Galaxy Whales" that migrate through the area. To allow the Galaxy Whales to complete their migration and to quell the local conflict, Basara, with the assistance of others, pilots the patrol team's test unit, the "VF-19P Excalibur," equipped with a "Space-Time Resonance Vocal Speaker System," and sings the moving "Angel Voice" to the space whales.
The "HI-METAL R VF-19P Excalibur (Planet Zola Patrol Specification)" is based on the previously released "VF-19 Kai," featuring new sculpted parts and new colors to reproduce its distinct head sculpt and pristine white body paint. By replacing certain parts, it can recreate the Space-Time Resonance Speaker units on both shoulders and transform into its three forms: FIGHTER, GERWALK, and BATTROID.
Accessories include a pilot figure of Basara Nekki that can be placed in the cockpit, a white display stand printed with Basara Nekki's illustration and the "Macross Dynamite 7" logo, and a BONUS part not used in the show: the "VF-19 GUNPOD." The GUNPOD features an original emblem conceived by director Shoji Kawamori.
