As James Gunn's new DC Universe (DCU) gradually takes shape, fan attention is increasingly focused on the casting of Justice League members. With David Corenswet already confirmed to star as Superman, the actors for other core roles like Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman, and Batman remain unannounced. The question of who will take on the mantle of the DCU's Batman, in particular, has sparked countless speculations and discussions.
Recently, comic book legend Todd McFarlane, creator of "Spawn" and co-creator of "Venom" from the "Spider-Man" series, revealed his ideal Batman actor during an interview with Screen Rant at WonderCon. His pick is Zachary Quinto, known for his role as Spock in the "Star Trek" franchise.
"I might not know a lot of Hollywood names, but there's one actor I really like," McFarlane stated. "He might be a little older, but he played Spock in 'Star Trek' and was also in 'Margin Call'."

"He can convey that sense of brooding — not the rigid brooding of Spock, but a character who is very focused and serious internally," McFarlane explained. "I think Batman needs that kind of personality because he is an incredibly focused individual."
McFarlane further elaborated on Batman's core character: "To me, the coolest thing about Batman is that he doesn't care about money. He's a billionaire by day, and at night he puts on a black cape and patrols. He doesn't like bullies, he has no patience for people who oppress others, and his belief is: 'I'm not afraid of you; I'm going to make *you* afraid of me.'"
