The alloy action figure series "MORTAL MIND", released by Chinese toy brand CCSTOYS, has announced its latest product from "Super Robot Wars OG", the "Cybaster (Spirit Possessed Ver.) [Special Edition]", scheduled for release in June 2025. Detailed product information will be revealed at a later date.
The highly popular original unit Cybaster, piloted by Masaki Andoh (CV: Hikaru Midorikawa) in the "Super Robot Wars" series, is a Wind Elemental Lord developed by the Holy Langran Kingdom of the underground world, which has formed a contract with the Wind Spirit Zephyrus. Powered by an alchemical perpetual motion engine and propelled by an aether medium, this unit possesses extremely high performance and versatility. The pilot's aura, magic, and other aptitudes can significantly influence the unit's abilities. Cybaster's main armament is the physical sword "Discutter," capable of unleashing powerful techniques such as Spirit Flash, Prana Storm, and Rampage Slash. It also possesses the ability to transform into its flight cruising form "Cybard" and "Spirit Possessed," where it unifies with the Wind Spirit.
The "MORTAL MIND Cybaster (Spirit Possessed Ver.) [Special Edition]" is a modified version based on the previously released standard edition. Compared to the standard edition's deeper metallic coating, this special edition features a completely re-tuned exterior color scheme, adopting a luxurious matte bright silver to better reproduce the colors from the original design.
Based on the currently released information, the accessories, including the Reinforced Discutter, the two "High Familiars" Kuro and Shiro, the magic circle, firing effects, and display stand, are all the same as the standard edition, though their colors have changed to match the main unit. Both the main unit and the magic circle display base feature LED light-up mechanisms, recreating the pose for unleashing its strongest special move, "Akashic Nova." Furthermore, it includes a complete transformation mechanism into its flight cruising form "Cybard," and effect parts to recreate the "Laplace Demon Mode."
