The popular action figure series "S.H.Figuarts", released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., has announced the commercialization of the Red Comet, "Char Aznable", from "Mobile Suit Gundam". Detailed product information will be released at a later date.
The legendary figure of the Universal Century, Char Aznable, whose real name is Casval Rem Deikun, fled with his young self and his sister, Artesia (Sayla), after his father was assassinated by the dictatorial, warmongering Zabi family, and his mother soon passed away in sorrow. Facing constant persecution from the Zabi family, Casval, who came to Earth, became increasingly radical in his actions. He possessed talent and ideals, but was always willing to betray to achieve his goals. He assumed the name Char Aznable and infiltrated the Zeon military academy. Ostensibly, he was the terrifying "Red Comet" to the Earth Federation Forces, but in reality, he was the son of Zeon Deikun, determined to avenge himself against the Zabi family by any means necessary.
In fact, TAMASHII NATIONS had already showcased a prototype of "S.H.Figuarts Char Aznable" at the "TAMASHII NATIONS SUMMER COLLECTION 2014" held in 2014. At that time, the sculpt faithfully reproduced the image drawn by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko. However, it had not been commercialized until today, 11 years later. Although only a silhouette of the Red Comet, finally to be announced, is visible, it is believed that both its sculpt and articulation will be even more evolved than before.
