Japan's official "Mobile Suit Gundam" Gunpla flagship store, GUNDAM BASE, has announced that the latest limited-edition product from the theatrical anime "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM", "HG 1/144 Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam [Clear Color]", will be available for sale at all stores starting May 3, 2025.
The ZGMF/A-262B Strike Freedom Gundam Type II, the mobile suit piloted by protagonist Kira Yamato, is a new machine improved by Morgenroete using the latest technology in "FREEDOM". Although there aren't significant changes to its external appearance, in reality, all its armaments, except for the high-energy beam rifle, have been updated to new specifications. After combining with the new enhanced equipment "Proud Defender" piloted by Lacus Clyne to form the ZGMF/A-262PD-P Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam, it can utilize ultra-high-power armaments such as the "Convergent Super-Dreadnought Cannon" hidden in its forehead.
The "HG 1/144 Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam [Clear Color]" is a modification of the previously released regular version. All parts, including white, black, blue, red, and yellow, have been changed to clear colored molding. The characteristic gold frame also utilizes recently developed "realistic metallic gloss injection" molded parts to reproduce a luxurious gold texture.
The content, apart from the exterior armor colors, is the same as the regular version. It features the "SEED Action System" which allows for classic poses from the Gundam SEED series. With flexible joint designs such as double joints in the forearms and independently movable hip joints for the legs, cool battle poses from the show can be recreated. The "Proud Defender" can be detached from the back for independent display. Each part of the wings not only features movable designs for up, down, front, and back articulation, but the 8 white wings can also deploy their outer armor, creating a glowing effect with 3D metallic stickers applied internally.
Armament accessories include two beam sabers, two beam rifles, a beam shield, and the physical sword "Futsunomitama". The railguns on both sides of the waist can be deployed to recreate the classic "Full Burst Mode". By replacing parts, the muzzle deployment state of the strongest armament, the "Convergent Super-Dreadnought Cannon," located on the forehead, can also be recreated.
