Ghost of Yōtei: Ghost of Tsushima Sequel Locks In PS5 Release Date, Shifts Setting to Hokkaido

Sucker Punch Productions, the developer behind "Ghost of Tsushima," has just released a stunning new trailer, nearly three minutes long, for its upcoming sequel, "Ghost of Yōtei." The studio also officially announced that the game will launch on the PS5 on October 2, 2025, immediately igniting excitement among players.

While the game carries on the spirit and world of "Ghost of Tsushima," it introduces a new protagonist, Atsu, in a story completely separate from its predecessor. The setting shifts to 1603 in Ezo (modern-day Hokkaido), over three hundred years after the first game. The narrative, a tale of vengeance and conviction, will unfold in the region surrounding the majestic Mount Yōtei.

PlayStation also released the game's trailer and revealed details for the Standard and Collector's Editions. The Standard Edition is priced at $69.99 USD, and pre-orders will include an exclusive in-game mask and seven PSN avatars featuring concept art of the "Six Samurai of Yōtei."

The highly anticipated Collector's Edition is packed with content, including all pre-order bonuses, the Digital Deluxe content, and the base game. Physical items include a display model of Atsu's mask, a replica sash embroidered with the names of the Six Samurai, and a Twin Wolf Tsuba (sword guard) from the protagonist's katana.

Additionally, the set comes with a prop set for the coin game "Zeni Hajiki," a papercraft Ginkgo Tree display, and a set of art cards, making it an extremely valuable collection for fans.

While specific plot details remain under wraps, the "Ghost of Yōtei" trailer shows Atsu embarking on a path to confront his past and seek self-redemption, hinting at a story filled with deeper emotional conflict and combat.
