From Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company's collector's toy division TAMASHII NATIONS, the Figuarts ZERO character figure brand, specifically its chouette series which focuses on creating female characters in a more delicate and elegant manner, is releasing a new product based on the classic anime "Ranma ½" – a pre-painted "Ranma" figure. The suggested retail price is 13,200 JPY, with an anticipated release in October 2025!
"Ranma ½" is a manga series by artist Rumiko Takahashi, serialized in "Weekly Shōnen Sunday" from 1987 to 1996. It was adapted into a TV anime by STUDIO DEEN in 1989, and again animated by MAPPA in 2024. The story revolves around the hilarious and chaotic daily life of Ranma Saotome, a boy who falls into a cursed spring during training, turning into a girl when splashed with cold water and reverting to a boy with hot water, and his fiancée Akane Tendo, as they face various romantic entanglements and martial arts challenges.
This Figuarts Zero chouette Ranma stands approximately 20 cm tall. The base is designed with inspiration from the Cursed Springs of Jusenkyo, a fictional region in the series. It features a dynamic airborne pose of Ranma (in her female form) atop transparent spring water and light mist effects. The sculpting faithfully recreates her slender body curves in her female form, reproducing the wrinkles and stylistic details of her martial arts uniform, and her peach-pink hair color is accurately painted. Furthermore, she can be displayed alongside the simultaneously released Shampoo to enhance their charm!
