The popular Tokusatsu and Kaiju-themed soft vinyl toy series "MOVIE MONSTER", released by Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., announced the latest product from the movie "Godzilla vs. Destoroyah", "Destoroyah ver.2.0", scheduled for release in May 2025.
Destoroyah was originally a microscopic crustacean that lived in an oxygen-free environment 2.5 billion years ago. In 1954, Dr. Serizawa used the "Oxygen Destroyer" to kill the first Godzilla, but this also awakened Destoroyah, which had been dormant in ancient strata, and it gradually mutated into a creature adapted to oxygen. After contact with oxygen, it gradually mutated from its original 2-5 millimeters into larvae nearly 2 meters long, and could further aggregate and evolve into "Aggregate Forms." Later, by absorbing the DNA of Godzilla Junior and power plant energy, it mutated and evolved into a perfect form over 200 meters tall. Its colossal figure resembled a terrifying demon, and its powerful ray could cut through Godzilla's skin. Its only weakness was extremely low-temperature freezing beams.
Released to commemorate the 30th anniversary of "Godzilla vs. Destoroyah", the "MOVIE MONSTER Destoroyah ver.2.0" is produced with a completely new sculpt. Compared to the old version released in 2017, the detailed sculpting and body proportions have been re-adjusted. Not only are the overall details sharper and more refined, but the color application is also richer, aiming for an appearance closer to the suit in the film.
