Just days after Sony Pictures dropped the trailer for the long-awaited fourth installment of "I Know What You Did Last Summer," set to hit North American theaters on July 18, The Hollywood Reporter (THR) has now revealed that Sony is also moving forward with a reboot of another iconic 90s slasher franchise, "Urban Legend." Some key creative personnel for the project have already been announced.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gary Dauberman, the screenwriter behind the "It" franchise who recently penned the script for Sony's live-action "Until Dawn" film, will team up with Neal H. Moritz, producer of the "Sonic the Hedgehog" live-action series, to produce the new "Urban Legend" reboot. Shanrah Wakefield, known for writing low-budget thriller and suspense TV movies, has been tapped to write the screenplay.
Further details regarding the release date, plot specifics, cast, and director for the new iteration are currently under wraps, with more developments expected to follow.
