Japanese toy company Kenelephant (ケンエレファント) is releasing a new product featuring multiple characters from the works of Japanese manga artist Go Nagai – the "Go Nagai Heroes Series Mini Character Mascot." It will be available in both boxed toy and gashapon formats, with a suggested retail price of 550 JPY per box and 500 JPY per gashapon, slated for release in mid-August 2025!
In his youth, Go Nagai was inspired by Osamu Tezuka and Sanpei Shirato, which led him to pursue a career as a manga artist. After working for several years with Shotaro Ishinomori's team, he began his own serialization, creating timeless classics such as "Devilman," "Mazinger Z," and "Getter Robo." With incredibly advanced robot designs and a unique aesthetic style, he shaped cherished memories for an entire generation of toy enthusiasts! This "Go Nagai Heroes Series Mini Character Mascot" boxed toy/gashapon features three popular characters from Go Nagai-sensei's works, crafted into mini character figures approximately 7-8 cm tall. Each character comes in three different color variations: Mazinger Z in full color, blue, and glow-in-the-dark; Getter 1 in full color, black, and glow-in-the-dark; and Devilman in full color, green, and glow-in-the-dark, totaling nine styles. Each mascot will come with packaging that mimics Showa-era soft vinyl toy bags, and they can be attached to bags with a ball chain, allowing toy collectors to proudly display their love for these works!
