Michael B. Jordan "Really Mad" About Missing Classic Ghibli Film's IMAX Run: "I Was So Annoyed!"

Michael B. Jordan, the Hollywood star currently making waves for his lead role in the R-rated film "Sinners," recently offered a rare, "nerd-culture" complaint during his promotional tour, revealing his genuine passion as a devoted anime fan.

Hayao Miyazaki's classic 1997 animated film, "Princess Mononoke," made its North American IMAX debut in March this year with a 4K remastered version, allowing fans to re-experience the timeless masterpiece with a stunning new visual presentation.

Unfortunately, the limited three-day theatrical run, coupled with Jordan's busy promotional schedule for "Sinners," meant he couldn't catch it in theaters. He expressed his frustration during an interview with IMAX, stating, "I was so annoyed I didn't get to see it! I was really mad, and it still bothers me to this day. I really wanted to see it on the IMAX screen."

Michael B. Jordan's passion for Japanese animation is well-documented. He has not only openly shared how he draws inspiration from anime but also incorporated anime-style action choreography and emotional expression into his directorial debut, "Creed III." He previously revealed in an interview that the fight scene between protagonists Adonis Creed and Damian Anderson in the film was a direct homage to the classic showdown between Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha in episode 450 of "Naruto: Shippuden."

Interestingly, during an interview with BBC Radio 1, when asked which anime he would recommend to newcomers, he listed popular and widely recognized titles such as "One Piece," "Dragon Ball," "Naruto," "Bleach," and "Hunter x Hunter."
