Japan's GOOD SMILE COMPANY's plastic model kit series "MODEROID" will release the protagonist robot "Danguard A" from the 80s classic robot anime "Danguard Ace" (惑星ロボ ダンガードA) in December 2025, with a suggested retail price of 7,900 JPY.
"Danguard Ace" (惑星ロボ ダンガードA) first aired in 1979, produced by Toei Animation in Japan. It was broadcast in Taiwan by CTS in 1986 under the name "Pili Rikou Hao" (霹靂日光號). The story describes the newly discovered tenth planet in the solar system, Promete (プロメテ), which is rich in various resources. Dr. Oedo (大江戸) plans to explore it, but Dr. Doppler (ドップラー) is consumed by greed and attempts to sabotage the plan to monopolize it. The protagonist, Takuma Ichimonji (一文字タクマ) (Taiwanese translation: Wang Ying-han), is the pilot of Danguard A (ダンガードA). To clear his father's name from charges of treason, he, along with the giant battle aircraft carrier Jasdam (ジャスダム) and others, bravely fights against the enemy.
This MODEROID plastic model kit of Danguard A stands approximately 18 cm tall. By utilizing interchangeable parts, it can transform into its flight form, "Satellizer" (サテライザー). The head parts offer both transformable and non-transformable options. The chest can open to recreate the firing state of the Pulsar Cannon. As for weapon accessories, the signature twin swords "COSMO ARROW" are, of course, included, and they can also be combined into the "Double Shaft" twin gun spear. Additionally, a display stand for the flight form is included.
