Japanese brand MOVIC, which sells various anime merchandise, has launched a new product based on the popular anime "Haikyuu!!" – the "Haikyuu!! Miniature Sneaker Collection" gashapon. The suggested retail price is 1,100 JPY per pack, with an estimated release date of July 26, 2025!
Japanese sports brand ASICS is one of the preferred brands for many volleyball players. However, to avoid copyright issues, in "Haikyuu!!", Sensei Furudate cleverly created a corresponding brand within the world using a phonetic pun! Players' uniforms often feature a foot symbol with "ICS" written underneath. The Japanese word for "foot" is read as "ashi" (あし), and when combined, it sounds just like ASICS!
This "Haikyuu!! Miniature Sneaker Collection" charm series transforms the popular players' volleyball shoes from the series into approximately 4.5 cm rubber charms. The collection features 10 styles, including Karasuno's #10 Shoyo Hinata, #9 Tobio Kageyama, #11 Kei Tsukishima, #4 Yu Nishinoya, #5 Ryunosuke Tanaka; Nekoma's #1 Tetsuro Kuroo, #5 Kenma Kozume, #3 Morisuke Yaku; and Fukurodani's #4 Kotaro Bokuto, #5 Keiji Akaashi. Despite their small scale, the charms faithfully recreate the ASICS-inspired volleyball shoes with simple designs, even meticulously reproducing the outsole patterns! Each charm comes with a ball chain and a tag shaped like the corresponding player's jersey number, and they all include a dedicated mini shoebox for storage.
