After wrapping up promotional duties for "Snow White", Gal Gadot is setting her sights on her next acting venture: the World War II thriller "Ruin". She will co-star with Belgian actor Matthias Schoenaerts, known for his role in "Rust and Bone" (pictured below).
Set in post-WWII Germany, the film follows Gadot as a recently liberated concentration camp prisoner who forms an unlikely alliance with a German soldier, played by Schoenaerts. Together, they embark on a mission to exact revenge on a Nazi SS squad.

"Ruin" is slated to begin production early next year. The screenplay, which landed on Hollywood's prestigious Black List in 2017, was penned by cousins Kaz Firpo and Ryan Firpo, who also contributed to Marvel's "Eternals". Directing the film is New Zealand filmmaker Niki Caro, whose credits include Disney's live-action "Mulan" and Netflix's action-thriller "The Mother". This marks Caro's second foray into a World War II and Holocaust-related narrative, following her 2017 drama "The Zookeeper's Wife".
