Russell, Robert De Niro has actually appeared in more of Russell's films. From "American Hustle" and "Joy" to "Silver Linings Playbook" and "Amsterdam," De Niro has been a consistent presence. Now, De Niro and Russell are set to embark on their fifth collaboration.

UK production company RK Films announced today that they are partnering with Russell to develop "Shutout," a new film centered on pool hustling and gambling. The company plans to sell international distribution rights at this year's Cannes Film Market. The movie will star De Niro and Jenna Ortega, with a screenplay penned by Alejandro Adams.
De Niro is set to play Jack Kincaid, a legendary pool hustler whose nearly lost skills once earned him a formidable reputation in the underground world, only for him to lose everything. Jack later encounters Mia, a young prodigy whose astonishing talent reignites a passion he thought long extinguished. Seeing a rare opportunity to mold a new generation's legend, Jack takes Mia under his wing, meticulously honing her abilities. However, as Mia's career flourishes and her ambition grows, Jack questions whether he can guide her towards true greatness, or if her insatiable desire for victory will ultimately consume everything he has taught her.
