Planned by game company SQUARE ENIX, with prototype development and production handled by model manufacturer Kotobukiya, these two major companies have jointly announced the first model kit product from the popular video game "NieR:Automata", "2B", scheduled for release in September 2025.
One of the three android protagonists, "YoRHa No.2 Type B", is a combat android belonging to the Bunker, skilled in using close-range weapons such as katanas and spears, and performing long-range attacks via her Pod. She is a calm and collected soldier, speaking with little emotion, engaging in no unnecessary dialogue beyond mission requirements, and strictly adhering to the YoRHa android principle of not possessing emotions. However, as the game's story progresses, players will perceive 2B gradually approaching the impulsive, candid, and gentle side of humanity, showing consideration for others.
The "2B Articulated Model Kit" was developed based on the 3D model used in the game, combining Kotobukiya's years of expertise in designing bishoujo model kits. Once completed, it stands approximately 15 cm tall, faithfully recreating 2B's voluptuous physique and elegant costume design from the game, and includes decals to reproduce her pupil patterns and skirt embroidery.
Each joint features a flexible articulation design, and it comes with 5 pairs of interchangeable hand parts and 3 different face parts, allowing for a wide variety of in-game poses. Furthermore, by swapping parts, you can recreate her high-cut lower body appearance after self-destructing and losing her skirt, which also expands the range of motion for the hip joints.
Accessories include two katana weapons, "Virtuous Contract" and "Virtuous Treaty", the "Black Box" for self-destruction, the "Pod 042" with articulated mechanisms, and a clear display stand. With the display stand, you can recreate scenes where both weapons are carried on her back and Pod 042 flies alongside her.
