Japanese high-end statue manufacturer Prime 1 Studio's "Life-Size Bust (ライフサイズバスト)" series officially announced its latest product yesterday (7th), a non-scale bust of "EVANGELION Unit-01 (Concept Design By Josh Nizzi)" from "Evangelion: New Theatrical Edition"! It is scheduled to be released from August to November 2026, with a suggested retail price of 566,390 JPY (tax included), limited to 350 units.
This time, the Unit-01 bust, powerfully sculpted in three dimensions at a height of 86 cm, once again features the overall design by Josh Nizzi, a mechanical concept artist active in the film and video game industries. If the previous Fourth Angel emphasized "dynamism" and "events that have already occurred," then this Unit-01, seemingly in preparation for sortie, focuses on "stillness" and "events about to happen."
In addition to showcasing the massive amount of detailed information of Unit-01 with high-level sculpting and painting, this work also uses a two-tiered base scene and people working on the platform to convey a vivid story and the worldview of "Neon Genesis Evangelion." Furthermore, the openable/closable design at the shoulder position, the biological feel inside Unit-01's mouth, and the realistic weathering treatment throughout the work platform are all highly noteworthy, coupled with multiple LED lighting mechanisms, which create a strong sense of presence when lit!
▼ Purchases made at the Prime 1 Studio official store will also include an additional bonus: the EVA cockpit: Entry Plug.
