Paramount Pictures has released a new official trailer and key art poster (below) for its upcoming animated feature, "The Smurfs Movie." The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on February 14, 2025.
The film is directed by Chris Miller, who helmed the first "Puss in Boots," from a script by Pam Brady, co-writer of "Team America: World Police." According to the official synopsis, Papa Smurf is kidnapped by the evil wizard Gargamel and his brother, prompting Smurfette to lead the Smurfs into the real world on a rescue mission. With the help of new friends and Papa Smurf's own brother, the Smurfs must find the key to their destiny and save the universe.

The film's star-studded voice cast includes Octavia Spencer, Nick Offerman, Natasha Lyonne, JP Karliak, Daniel Levy, Amy Sedaris, Nick Kroll, James Corden, Alex Winter, Hannah Waddingham, Sandra Oh, Billie Lourd, Xolo Maridueña, Kurt Russell, and John Goodman. Pop superstar Rihanna lends her voice to Smurfette and will also contribute original songs to the film's soundtrack. A snippet of one of her new tracks, "Friend of Mine," is featured in the latest trailer.
