Andrew Garfield remains in high demand, having just been confirmed last week to star alongside Jude Law in Apple TV+'s new limited biographical series "Wild Things". Now, Deadline reports that Garfield is in talks to join "The Rage," the upcoming film from director Paul Greengrass, known for "Captain Phillips" and multiple installments of the "Bourne" franchise.

According to Deadline, "The Rage" secured its U.S. distribution rights at the ongoing Cannes Film Market, with Focus Features acquiring them for $11 million. Garfield is reportedly in negotiations for a lead role, expected to replace Matthew McConaughey, who was previously attached to the project.
The film "The Rage" is said to center on a peasant-led revolution in England in 1381, sparked by economic hardship and oppressive taxation. Garfield is likely to portray a peasant leader, a character reportedly based on the real-life historical figure Wat Tyler, who spearheaded the Peasants' Revolt in the same year.
