Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd.'s Gashapon capsule toy brand is set to release its highly anticipated latest product in the luxurious "Creature Encyclopedia Ultimate" series: the "Long-toothed Longhorn Beetle & Japanese Tiger Beetle Gashapon." Available in four types, each capsule has a reference price of 1,500 JPY and is scheduled for release in May 2025.
"Creature Encyclopedia Ultimate (Ikimono Dai Zukan Advance)" features top-tier size, sculpting, and articulation design, boasting even more realistic details and exquisite paintwork compared to standard "Creature Encyclopedia" products. This release of the "Creature Encyclopedia Ultimate Long-toothed Longhorn Beetle & Japanese Tiger Beetle Gashapon" includes four types, namely: Long-toothed Longhorn Beetle (Dark Color), Long-toothed Longhorn Beetle (Light Color), and Japanese Tiger Beetle (Red), Japanese Tiger Beetle (Yellow).
The Long-toothed Longhorn Beetle features a substantial size with a total length of approximately 160 mm and is designed with 27 points of articulation. The Japanese Tiger Beetle, on the other hand, is approximately 90mm with 23 points of articulation. JMC Co., Ltd. performed X-ray CT scans to thoroughly reproduce the specimen's form, while Jiro Miura is responsible for the splendid and vibrant paintwork, meticulously recreating extremely realistic details everywhere! The thin wings of the hindwings are crafted from transparent material, and details such as the long teeth, mouthparts, and abdominal segments usually hidden beneath the wings are also vividly reproduced!
