Naughty Dog, the acclaimed game developer known for its "The Last of Us" and "Uncharted" franchises, recently confirmed that in addition to the previously announced sci-fi title "Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet," another unannounced game is also currently in development.
According to Naughty Dog co-president Neil Druckmann, speaking on the "Press X To Continue" podcast, this new project is being handled by a separate development team, with Druckmann providing guidance and feedback in a producer role.
"My role now is more like an observer and mentor, watching another team develop this project, offering advice from the sidelines, like a senior representative in meetings," Druckmann stated.
As early as March of this year, reports indicated that Naughty Dog had a secret project quietly in development for three years. While many fans hoped it would be "The Last of Us Part III", related rumors suggest this new title will not be part of that franchise. The involvement of Shaun Escayg, a veteran creative who worked on both "The Last of Us" and "Uncharted," as a potential director, has led to speculation that the project could be connected to the "Uncharted" universe.
Furthermore, earlier rumors also suggested Naughty Dog might be working on a new game starring Nathan Drake's daughter, Cassie Drake, sparking fan discussion about whether the series would be passed on to the next generation.
Official details remain scarce, but Naughty Dog is renowned for its high-quality storytelling and immersive gameplay experiences, making the new project highly anticipated. More information is expected to be released by the studio at a later date.
