Gundam's official fashion label, STRICT-G, is back at it again, consistently teaming up with major Japanese and American brands to drop some seriously cool apparel that Gundam fans can't get enough of.
Today (May 29), they announced a brand-new, reversible "sukajan" jacket, celebrating the 30th anniversary of the anime "Mobile Suit Gundam Wing." This stylish piece is priced at 35,200 JPY and is now available for pre-order on Japan's Premium Bandai website.
This jacket is a full-on tribute to Heero Yuy's iconic "Wing Gundam Zero EW" from "Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz." Crafted from shimmering, smooth satin, it boasts exquisite embroidery that brings the mobile suit's powerful illustration to life. It's a versatile, reversible jacket, offering two distinct styles in one.
One side rocks a crisp blue and white combo. The front proudly displays those signature feather motifs, along with the mobile suit's designation "XXXG-01W" and Heero Yuy's name, all intricately embroidered. Flip it over, and you're greeted with a badass embroidered "Wing Gundam Zero EW," twin buster rifle in hand, surrounded by text – pure awesomeness, no doubt.
(A quick fan note: While "XXXG-01W" is typically associated with the original Wing Gundam, and "XXXG-00W0" with Wing Gundam Zero, STRICT-G has opted for "XXXG-01W" on this design.)
The other side switches things up with a sleek blue and champagne gold palette. The front features the emblem of the Preventer organization, the peacekeeping force directly under the Earth Sphere Unified Nation in the series. And the back? A bold "Preventer A.C.196" embroidered statement, offering a completely different vibe from the blue and white side.
