"Resident Evil 9: Requiem" Confirmed in Development, First Trailer Drops, Launching February 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC

Capcom dropped the news at this year's Summer Game Fest, confirming that the highly anticipated "Resident Evil 9" isn't quite ready yet, so fans will have to "wait a little longer."

During the event, Capcom first teased a short video as a prelude to the "Resident Evil" series' 30th anniversary. It featured Maggie Robertson, the actress behind "Resident Evil Village's" iconic "vampire lady" Lady Dimitrescu, serenading viewers with a "Happy Birthday" song.

Then, at the tail end of the event, Capcom officially pulled back the curtain on the series' latest installment, "Resident Evil 9." The full title was confirmed as "Resident Evil: Requiem," with a release date locked in for February 27, 2026, across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S platforms.

Capcom stated that "Requiem" will usher in a fresh new look for the series, emphasizing "cinematic, high-tension action." It promises a distinct style in visuals, narrative, and pacing, offering players an unprecedented "Resident Evil" adventure.
