Liquor Innovation Co., Ltd.'s brewing brand, KURAND, known for its popular collaborations with anime like Laid-Back Camp and Attack on Titan, is back with another exciting partnership!
They've just announced a new collaboration with the hit light novel series, "Re:Zero - Starting Life in Another World," to release a special black tea-flavored liqueur inspired by the "Witch of Greed," Echidna. Pre-orders are now open on the KURAND online store for 6,990 JPY, with an official release slated for late August 2025.
Echidna, the "Witch of Greed" among the Sin Archbishops, appears as a girl (or so she seems?) with long white hair and nearly pure white skin. While she embodies greed, her immense desires are channeled into the pursuit of knowledge. Her every action is driven by an intense curiosity and thirst for understanding.
She first appears in the story when Subaru accidentally stumbles into her dream realm after entering the Sanctuary's tomb. After Subaru drinks the tea she offers, she casually reveals it's made from her bodily fluids, leading Subaru to dub it "Dona Tea." This collaboration liqueur is crafted with that infamous concept in mind!
This special liqueur, inspired by "Dona Tea," features an exclusive original label adorned with Echidna's illustration. Set against a dark background, it perfectly captures the mysterious vibe of the "Witch's Tea Party."
The liqueur boasts an elegant black tea aroma, offering a rich and complex flavor profile. They've even secretly added brandy and cocoa for an extra kick, giving it a deep fragrance, a subtle bitterness, and just the right amount of sweetness. The overall mouthfeel is incredibly smooth – a truly irresistible witchy trap that'll have you reaching for more (lol).
And it's not just the liqueur itself that's meticulously crafted! This collaboration also includes an adorable "Echidna Pixel Art Acrylic Coaster" as a bonus! Not only can you use it for your drinks, but it also comes with a stand, making it a super practical two-in-one display piece.
