Gunpla builders know the drill – painting, cutting, weathering, even themed custom builds are all fair game to make your kits truly unique.
Today, we're diving into a mind-blowing creation by Gunpla builder Kemushi Factory (@plasticfactory_k). They took the "Akatsuki Gundam" from "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny" and gave it an "anime-style" paint job so meticulously crafted, it looks like it jumped straight out of the screen! Netizens are absolutely floored, exclaiming, "Pause it anywhere, and it looks like a 2D anime screenshot!"

The kit in question is the RG 1/144 Akatsuki Gundam (Oowashi Pack), which made waves upon its release for its dazzling, shiny gold parts. But Kemushi Factory decided to go a different route, opting for an "anime-style" aesthetic. They meticulously panel-lined every detail and even painted shadows based on light sources. The result? It feels like an actual anime character is standing right in front of you, a stark contrast to the kit's original look.

Kemushi Factory admitted that tackling an RG Gunpla, with its incredibly numerous and intricate parts, was a seriously time-consuming and labor-intensive endeavor. Just imagine painting every single one of these components individually, all while ensuring the colors seamlessly blend once assembled – way tougher than it sounds!

Looking at the body parts individually really highlights the incredible color matching required for this paint job.

And once it's all put together? Absolutely breathtaking.

Kemushi Factory has also shared tons of other anime-style Gundam builds on their personal Instagram and X accounts. Each one is a masterpiece and definitely worth checking out!
