Japanese figure maker Kotobukiya dropped a bombshell last night (July 12), announcing a brand-new voice alarm plushie featuring Joey Wheeler's iconic card, the Time Wizard! The coolest part? It comes with a "1/2 chance activation" alarm mechanism – basically, they've packed the thrill of a coin toss duel right into your morning routine! This bad boy will retail for 6,050 JPY, with an estimated release in December 2025. Pre-orders kick off on July 14 at Kotobukiya's physical stores.
This plushie isn't just cute; it's got a voice alarm module that might just... not go off! Why? Because it's all about that 1/2 chance! Just pop your pre-set alarm module into its belly, then "press its face" to trigger the anime's classic "Time Roulette" sound effect for your morning gamble!
If the roulette lands on a "win," the "Time Magic Alarm" kicks in, and the entire plushie vibrates intensely to shake you awake! But if you "lose"... well, you're on your own to get up. Or, you know, maybe keep a reliable, *actually-gonna-ring* alarm clock nearby. (Seriously.)
The plushie itself is a 1:1 scale replica, standing approximately 22 cm tall. It features internal wires in its arms and legs, so you can pose it however you like! The embedded voice alarm module is detachable, meaning you can use it solo if you prefer. It also comes with an adjustable carrying strap for on-the-go adventures, and it runs on four AAA batteries (sold separately).
The embedded voice alarm module boasts two distinct modes:
▼ 'Wake-Up!' 50/50 Mode
Whether your alarm rings is purely up to chance (a 50% probability). When the time comes, if you "win," the alarm sound effect will blare, and the plushie will vibrate to rouse you. Naturally, if you "lose," it stays silent! (Seriously, don't rely on this for important days!)
▼ 'Instant Decision!' 50/50 Mode
No need to set a time here! Just press it, and the "roulette draw" begins, playing different "win" or "lose" voice lines and sound effects. Perfect for deciding if you should actually do something... or just chill out instead!
