"Mobile Suit Gundam" has been around for over 45 years, spawning countless anime and games. But did you know that way back when, Bandai actually released a Gundam handheld console?
Recently, popular Japanese VTuber Suou Patra took to X to share her latest score: a legendary, ultra-rare handheld game console that left fans absolutely stunned.

Suou Patra, who's amassed a huge following through her game streams and ASMR content, is also a well-known retro game collector. She often shares videos on her channel of her treasure hunts at game stores and unboxing vintage finds.

She posted, exclaiming "Everyone~~~~~~~~~~," and unveiled a rare handheld console. It clearly features "Mobile Suit Gundam" artwork on both the box and the console itself, leaving many fans scratching their heads about this ancient relic. This particular handheld, known as "FL Mobile Suit Gundam," is actually 43 years old!
"FL Mobile Suit Gundam" is a handheld electronic game released by Bandai in 1982. It belongs to the "LSI game" (Large Scale Integration Game) category popular at the time, which featured early LCD or LED displays. Due to its age, limited production, and the increasing difficulty of finding well-preserved, boxed versions, it's become a highly valuable item in retro gaming circles—a true "legendary masterpiece" among collectors.
The game itself is a shooter where players control Gundam to fight enemy mobile suits (like Zaku). It's simple to play but demands good reflexes and rhythm.

While the console and box show some signs of age, the overall condition is remarkably good. In another post, she even quoted Amuro's famous line, "This thing... it moves!" to confirm that the machine is fully functional.

This unexpected reveal of a "rare collectible" immediately sparked enthusiastic responses from fans: "Huh? What is this? I've never seen it before...", "Patra's even collecting LSI models now?", "The fact that it's still boxed is insane lol," and "I hope you'll host a game collection exhibition someday!" Everyone was surprised and impressed, not only by her collection of "degenerate games" but also by her foray into such legendary artifacts.

Thanks to Suou Patra's share, many people are now aware of this "Mobile Suit Gundam" handheld game. Maybe one day we'll see Patra stream herself playing this 40-year-old machine and show us what it's all about!
