Originally the frontman for the band Sound Schedule, Masayoshi Oishi launched his solo career as "Oishi Masayoshi" in 2014, diving into the world of anime and game music. He quickly shot to fame in the ACG scene, lending his voice to countless iconic anime theme songs.
Recently, during an episode of "Desho Desho," the online show he co-hosts with Airi Suzuki, Oishi interviewed hololive DEV_IS's music unit 'ReGLOSS' members Otonose Kanade and Todoroki Hajime. During their chat, Oishi dropped a bombshell, revealing that his personal VTuber oshi is none other than Todoroki Hajime herself! This sent ripples through the fanbase, with many surprised by his pick.
Todoroki Hajime of hololive DEV_IS's music unit 'ReGLOSS' debuted in 2023. Initially, her somewhat slurred speech led fans to jokingly call her language even harder to understand than veteran VTuber Sakura Miko's.
However, after her 3D concert, she unleashed her incredible dance talent, instantly captivating countless fans. Not only is she a fantastic singer, but her dancing prowess makes her one of hololive's rare and powerful pillars.

After the episode aired, Masayoshi Oishi took to his personal X account to declare his support for Hajime. Naturally, fans were hyped! Having the multi-talented Hajime championed by "Oishi-niisan" (Big Brother Oishi) clearly shows her hard work is being recognized.
Of course, many fans are now eagerly anticipating a future collaboration. Given Oishi's outstanding songwriting abilities, a partnership with hololive would undoubtedly be a massive boost.
But some fans couldn't help but joke, "Oishi isn't into lolis?!" After all, in a past show, Masayoshi Oishi was asked to pick three ACG characters: one for marriage, one for a girlfriend, and one for a little sister. His answers? All of them were "little sister" types, LOL.
(His picks were: Mikan Yuuki from "To Love-Ru" for marriage, Tsukihi Araragi from "Nisemonogatari" for a girlfriend, and Kirino Kousaka from "Oreimo" for a little sister.)
Oishi vehemently insists, "I am NOT a lolicon!!" He argues that "little sister" types and lolicons are not the same; he just happens to like ACG characters who are little sisters. (Though, Oishi, all three of your picks are underage, XD, and one is an elementary schooler you want to marry...)
It's clear, though, that Masayoshi Oishi is genuinely captivated by Todoroki Hajime's performance talents, which is why he's such a strong advocate. Although, at 45, Oishi is old enough to be her dad, LOL.
