"Attack on Titan" The Final Season Part 1 and 2 aired in 2022, bringing the epic saga to a close. Earlier this year, "Attack on Titan Final Chapter: THE LAST ATTACK," an edited compilation of both parts, hit theaters in Taiwan, raking in impressive box office numbers and proving the series' enduring hold on fans.
This time, we're spotlighting an incredible cosplay! Japanese cosplayer "mirio" recently turned heads at the 2025 World Cosplay Summit (August 1-3) with her incredible take on "Attack on Titan"'s Founding Ymir. Her costume was spot-on, but it was her flawless recreation of Ymir's signature dark eye effect that truly captivated fans.
Founding Ymir is the original source of all Titan powers. Once an ordinary slave in the Eldian Kingdom, she was cast out after being accused of letting pigs escape. She then stumbled into a mysterious hole, where she merged with a creature resembling a spine-like entity, gaining the power of the Titans.
Her subservience, however, led her back to King Fritz, who exploited her as both a breeding machine and a soldier. After her death, King Fritz forced Ymir's three daughters to consume her body, thus inheriting the Titan powers, which eventually splintered into the Nine Titans.
Fun fact: Cosplayer "mirio" is actually over 40! But her passion for cosplay keeps her actively participating in events and rocking various characters.
She chose Founding Ymir because she deeply resonates with her story. Recreating Ymir's constant dark eye makeup can sometimes be a bit startling, she admits with a laugh.
If that look's a bit too intense, how about a maid-style heart pose instead? LOL!
She's even teamed up with other "Attack on Titan" cosplayers at events to perfectly capture Ymir's eerie, appearing-out-of-nowhere vibe.
