Last December marked the 30th anniversary of the classic "PlayStation" home console, developed and founded by SIE (Sony Interactive Entertainment). Its initial debut was a groundbreaking milestone in gaming, and subsequent models have consistently remained top contenders in the console market.
However, a recent Reddit post has gone viral, showcasing a user's attempt to repair their "PlayStation 3 (PS3)" that accidentally resulted in the console "melting." The shocking sight has sparked a heated discussion online.

The Reddit user, seascouuut, explained that their PS3 encountered the infamous "YLOD" (Yellow Light of Death), where the console's indicator light flashes yellow, signaling a hardware malfunction. This issue is typically linked to faulty solder joints inside the console, and many DIY repair guides online suggest "heating the motherboard" as a fix.
But instead of bothering with "re-soldering," seascouuut decided to take a shortcut: they "wrapped the console in a towel" and "blasted hot air into the vents with a hairdryer." Ten minutes later, they returned to find the "middle of the console completely caved in," a truly tragic sight.

They initially posted on the forum asking if there was any way to recover their save data. However, other users completely ignored the actual problem, instead relentlessly mocking them for accidentally typing "rapped" instead of "wrapped" in their post. The single-letter typo completely changed the meaning, derailing the entire discussion, and leaving the original question unanswered.

By all accounts, the console should have been toast. But miraculously, seascouuut reported the next day that the PS3 still booted up normally! They even went on to install Linux internally, giving this visually mangled console a new lease on life.

Other Redditors congratulated them on their insane luck, amazed that it still worked. The consensus? "Don't 'rape' it again, and ditch that damn towel, lol!" This bizarre repair story has become an internet legend, and this user somehow managed to save their PS3 against all odds. Talk about being chosen by the gaming gods!
