Toei Animation is keeping the 25th-anniversary celebrations for "Ojamajo Doremi" (おジャ魔女どれみ) rolling! After announcing the new project "Ojamajo Doremi 1620s" (おジャ魔女どれみ1620s) in 2024, the official team just dropped some exciting news on X (formerly Twitter). Get ready for "Ojamajo Carnival!! ~Yuru Tabi-hen~" (おジャ魔女カーニバル‼︎〜ゆる旅篇〜), officially premiering on Toei Animation's YouTube channel on September 20, 2025, at 0:00 JST. They even gave us a sneak peek with several new anime stills!
"Ojamajo Doremi 1620s" first made waves at AnimeJapan 2024 with its debut trailer. The title itself is a nod to the light novel series, "Ojamajo Doremi 16" through "20s," published by Kodansha since 2011. These novels chronicle the journey of Harukaze Doremi and her friends as they grow from 16 to 20 years old. The trailer gave fans a glimpse of the main cast at various stages of their lives, showcasing their fresh, adult looks.
This newly revealed "Ojamajo Carnival!! ~Yuru Tabi-hen~" takes a different spin, focusing on the six MAHO-do members as full-fledged adults embarking on a trip. And what's a carnival without music? The project features a re-arranged version of the iconic theme song, "Ojamajo Carnival!!", which will hit major music streaming platforms starting September 20.
Since its debut in 1999, "Ojamajo Doremi" has been a beloved companion for countless fans, watching them grow up alongside the magical girls themselves. Its popularity remains sky-high, and this latest project not only carries on the series' enduring spirit but also marks a truly special commemoration for its 25th anniversary.
