Last April, Sony Pictures tapped "Women Is Losers" director Lissette Feliciano to write and direct "On Your Feet," a biopic chronicling the life of Latin pop icon Gloria Estefan. While rumors had long circulated that Rachel Zegler was eyed for the role of Estefan, official confirmation remained elusive until the singer herself recently confirmed the casting.

Speaking with The Sun recently, Estefan confirmed Zegler's involvement, stating that she found Zegler amazing and incredible, and was aware of her stunning performance in the "Evita" musical. Estefan noted that the film is still awaiting a green light, as they are figuring out the production logistics, including where and how to shoot. She explained that the project has been in development for several years, and this is the current status. Estefan added that she believes Zegler will join the cast, and that she just needs to formally offer her the role once the film officially gets the green light, which she said they are close to achieving.
"On Your Feet" was originally conceived as an adaptation of the Broadway musical of the same name, which chronicles Gloria and her husband Emilio Estefan's journey in the entertainment industry. However, Gloria clarified that the film version will not be a direct remake of the stage production.
