Donut chain Mister Donut Japan has been dropping epic collabs with Pokémon almost every winter holiday season, and last year's Diglett Pon de Ring was a massive hit! Naturally, this year is no exception.
This time, alongside the usual Pikachu, we're getting an unexpected assist from "Amoonguss"! The announcement instantly went viral, with many fans praising the choice of Amoonguss as a featured character and its wonderfully weird design.
This lineup features five themed treats: the Pikachu Donut, Amoonguss Donut, Pikachu Tail Crispy Donut, Mimikyu Chocolate Donut, and Voltorb White Chocolate Donut. All are limited-time offerings, and every time these two team up, Mister Donut stores across Japan get absolutely swamped! We can already predict the same scene during the New Year's lucky bag season – it's an annual tradition!
▼ Fluffy Pikachu Donut
This year's star item is the "Mofumofu Pikachu Donut" (Fluffy Pikachu Donut), inspired by Pikachu itself. It features a soft, fluffy dough filled with fresh cream, topped with a custard-flavored glaze and chocolate bits for that irresistibly cute, puffy look.
▼ Amoonguss Donut
Next up is the "Tamageta! Amoonguss Donut" (Oh my! Amoonguss Donut), which takes its design cues from Amoonguss – looking like a mini Poké Ball from above! This adorable treat combines a moist cake donut with a fluffy choux pastry shell, creating two delightful layers of texture.
▼ Pikachu Tail Crispy Donut
Recreating Pikachu's iconic tail, the "Zakuzaku Pikachu no Shippo Donut" (Crispy Pikachu Tail Donut) is adorned with golden crispy flakes, offering a totally different texture experience compared to the Fluffy Pikachu Donut.
▼ Mimikyu Chocolate Donut
▼ Voltorb White Chocolate Donut
This time, there are three "Donut + Merch Combo" sets, featuring a super soft, skin-friendly Pokémon fleece blanket and an adorable glass cup:
Pikachu Blanket: Adorned with Pikachu and Mimikyu in all sorts of cute poses.
Amoonguss Blanket: Features Amoonguss, Voltorb, and Poké Ball patterns.
Glass Cup: Perfectly sized for kids to use easily, it's encircled with cute Pokémon designs from this collab.
And that's not all! Mister Donut is also dropping a limited-edition "Pon de Ring Wreath" series, launching right alongside the Pokémon collab donuts for the holiday season.
The collab runs from November 5, 2025, until late December, so if you're a Pokémon fan heading to Japan during that time, don't miss out! As for Taiwan, there's no news yet, but maybe there's a chance down the line!
