The devs spilled the beans, explaining that Mega Lucario Z is all about Lucario letting its Aura energy flow freely, wrapping around its entire body. This supercharges its defense, flexibility, and agility! While Mega Evolutions with a "Z" in their name might burn through Mega Energy faster, the trade-off is a drastically reduced charge-up time before attacks. This means lightning-fast assaults to overwhelm opponents, ushering in a new "quick-strike victory" battle style. 
But wait, there's more than just Lucario's new look! The official announcement also confirmed the immediate launch of the EX Side Mission "Project Code: M." Starting December 2, 2025, players of both "Pokémon LEGENDS Z-A" and "Pokémon LEGENDS Z-A Nintendo Switch 2 Edition" can snag a "Mewtwonite X" and "Mewtwonite Y" via "Mystery Gift," unlocking a whole new set of mission content.
Just select "Get via Internet" in-game to claim your two Mega Stones. Then, head over to the designated spot, "Lysandre Café," and delve into the research lab. The system will reactivate due to the Mega Stones' energy, kicking off the "Project Code: M" storyline. Finish the mission, and boom – the legendary Pokémon Mewtwo joins your squad!
Once Mewtwo is your partner, simply have it hold one of the Mega Stones you received, and it can Mega Evolve into either "Mega Mewtwo X" or "Mega Mewtwo Y," boosting its abilities for an even more intense battle experience.
