SEGA's Like a Dragon series practically invented the Japanese gangster game genre. Since its debut in 2005, it's spawned over a dozen spin-off titles, with its massive, intricate character designs and storylines consistently thrilling players.
Now, the series is teaming up with Kamotsuru Sake Brewery to drop a special collaboration sake inspired by none other than Kasuga Ichiban himself: "Like a Dragon Masterpiece Sake 'Junmai Daiginjo Kasuga Ichiban'." Pre-orders are live now at the Kamotsuru Official Online Store!
This isn't Kamotsuru's first rodeo with "Like a Dragon" – it's actually their third collaboration sake! Previous editions featured fan favorites Kazuma Kiryu and Goro Majima.
This "Kasuga Ichiban" edition is just as epic, rocking a vibrant vermillion red as its main color. The whole design screams his fiery passion and explosive energy. The bottle sports a high-quality washi paper label, with a two-tone illustration that captures the elegant essence of sake. And check out that name – black hot-stamped gold for a look that's both understated and utterly badass.
The "Junmai Daiginjo Kasuga Ichiban" is brewed with the rare "Hiroshima Nishiki" sake rice and Kamotsuru Brewery's proprietary "Kyokai No. 5 Yeast." Expect a gorgeous aroma, a distinct umami flavor unique to junmai sake, and a subtle dryness. It's a taste that's both fiery and refined – perfectly mirroring Kasuga Ichiban's complex personality.
But wait, there's more! There's also a limited-edition "Kasuga Ichiban Birthday Commemorative Set" dropping, celebrating his January 1st New Year's Day birthday. This special set comes with an original sake cup featuring the black koi dragon head "Chiwen" – the iconic tattoo on his back. Talk about a must-have collectible!
