When you talk about Baumkuchen in Japan, one name reigns supreme: "JUCHHEIM." This Kobe-based brand has been baking Baumkuchen for a century, carrying on the legacy of the German master confectioner Karl Juchheim, who first introduced the cake to Japan. Their historically sweet treats have won over countless fans.
Now, JUCHHEIM is teaming up with Pokémon for a special 2026 Valentine's Day collaboration! Get ready for a limited-edition sweets collection featuring their signature Baumkuchen and other delightful treats. Pre-orders kick off on their official online store starting December 22 (Monday).
JUCHHEIM, which inherited the craft from Karl Juchheim, the first German baker to make Baumkuchen in Japan, quickly rose to prominence as a purveyor of authentic German confections. Even after the founder's passing, this beacon of history continued to shine, with Kobe's pastry chefs carrying on the tradition. Today, Baumkuchen is renowned as a top gift choice in Japan.
Known for its exquisite Baumkuchen, JUCHHEIM is now rolling out Pokémon-themed Valentine's Day sweets. The concept? "Convey your feelings to important people with Pokémon-designed sweets." True to JUCHHEIM's commitment to natural ingredients and artisan craftsmanship, these heartwarming desserts are designed for everyone, from kids to grandparents, to enjoy together.
Beyond fan favorites Pikachu and Eevee, this collection introduces new Pokémon from "Pokémon Legends Z-A" like Chikorita, Tepig, and Totodile! A total of 11 different Pokémon grace the packaging, which includes new items like mille-feuille sandwiches. These gentle, ingredient-focused sweets are infused with adorable Pokémon elements, making them not just delicious but also incredibly fun!
