Japanese YouTuber Crafts Epic "Chainsaw Man Mask" Using Only Dollar Store Materials, Wows Fans

We've seen our fair share of incredible cosplay, and in the world of costume play, the ultimate goal for any dedicated Coster is to bring their favorite characters to life, no matter how wild the idea. Of course, nailing that perfect look means crafting highly accurate costumes and props.

Recently, a Japanese YouTube channel dropped a video showcasing an absolutely stunning "Chainsaw Man Mask"—the very one Denji transforms into—crafted entirely from materials found at a 100-yen shop! The incredible detail and high-quality finish have left viewers absolutely floored and showered the creator with praise for their insane skills.

The mastermind behind this viral creation is the YouTube channel "2階の圖工室" (which translates to "Second Floor Art Room"), specializing in recreating cosplay props. Their unique approach of bringing "bio-mechanical" designs to life in 3D has consistently garnered massive reactions, leaving many curious about their creative process.

They shared that their journey into video creation began from a love of watching DIY and model-making content. Eventually, they thought, "I want to share the things I love too!" As for the channel name, "2階の圖工室," it's quite literal—they genuinely craft all their amazing works on the second floor of their home.

For this "Chainsaw Man" mask challenge, the creator spilled some design secrets: "I used magnets so the jaw is detachable. This makes the mask more compact for storage and gives it a cleaner look. Among all the dollar store materials, EVA foam sheets are absolutely crucial. They're easy to shape, strong enough, and perfect for the base structure. Plus, hunting for other materials in the store that I can use for detailing feels like a treasure hunt—it's genuinely a blast!"

To perfectly capture "Chainsaw Man's" signature "dark, unsettling, and bloody" vibe, they put in extra effort:
"I intentionally cut the teeth roughly, sculpted the gums with paper clay, and then added those distinct red and black bloodstains you see on Chainsaw Man. All these details really nail that eerie, authentic atmosphere from the original series."

They've also tackled other massive projects in the past, like Frieren's staff from "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" and General Ouki's glaive from "Kingdom." But they admit the toughest part about these large-scale builds is having to determine every single dimension yourself. "If you add too many details but the overall balance is off, even the most intricate design will look weird. Sometimes, if it just doesn't feel right, I'll scrap it and start over."

So, if you're looking to craft some awesome props yourself, definitely check out their channel! Since they primarily use materials readily available at 100-yen stores, it's perfect for anyone on a budget or looking for accessible DIY inspiration.
