Japanese McDonald's has been on a roll lately! Beyond their popular Happy Meals, they've teamed up with the super popular game series "Dragon Quest," which is celebrating its 40th anniversary and has grown up with countless players. This collaboration has already seen a lottery for exclusive merchandise, with fans clamoring for a chance to participate.
Today (12/25), the official reveal dropped for the second collaboration wave: three epic "DQ Burgers" and two refreshing, collab-exclusive yogurt sodas! These limited-time offerings are set to launch on January 7, 2026, at McDonald's locations across Japan. A brand-new commercial was also released alongside the announcement.

Currently, the first collaboration wave is still ongoing, featuring the "McDonald's × Dragon Quest Slime in Slime" nesting doll set, which gathers 5 different Slime figures. Pre-registration for the lottery is open now.

But for the second collaboration wave, the undisputed stars are the limited-edition "DQ Burgers." Each burger comes in special collaboration packaging and features an original, custom-made bun. The buns are even emblazoned with the iconic "Hero's Sword" slash marks, packed with incredible detail!
This time, there are three delicious flavors to choose from:
Thick-Cut Beef × Crispy Hash Brown with Addictive Ham & Pepper Mayo

Spicy Tartare Fried Chicken Burger

Double Cheese Teriyaki Burger

And to complement the Slime's iconic blue hue, two themed drinks are also making their debut: the "Refreshing Yogurt Soda" and the "Parfait Float Refreshing Yogurt Soda Flavor." Both will be served in limited-edition cups sporting Slime designs.

A brand-new TV commercial also dropped, featuring a parade of classic "Dragon Quest" monsters and showcasing the DQ Burgers' deliciousness in hilarious fashion. Nogizaka46's Miku Ichinose stars as a McDonald's employee, wielding spells like "Merazoma" to conjure up the legendary DQ Burger. The concept is pure gold!
This "Dragon Quest" x McDonald's collaboration kicks off on January 7 at McDonald's locations across Japan (excluding some stores). If you're lucky enough to be in Japan during this period, you absolutely have to give them a try!
