Get ready, fans! Koi's beloved four-panel manga series, "Is the Order a Rabbit?" (Gochuumon wa Usagi Desu ka?), originally serialized in Houbunsha's "Manga Time Kirara MAX" magazine, is back! The series has already spawned three TV anime seasons and an OVA.
While a new anime project was teased back in March, today (December 25) brings the official confirmation: a brand-new theatrical anime film is in the works! To celebrate, they've dropped the first teaser visual, freshly drawn by character designer Akane Yano, along with the core production staff. Fans are absolutely buzzing, though a release date is still under wraps.

"Is the Order a Rabbit?" has previously been adapted into three TV anime seasons and an OVA, with the third season, "Is the Order a Rabbit? BLOOM," premiering all the way back in October 2020.
The story unfolds in a charming town known for its wooden houses and cobblestone streets. Our protagonist, Cocoa Hoto, arrives to attend high school and stumbles upon a coffee shop called "Rabbit House." Turns out, it's her new homestay, and school rules mean she's now a part-time employee! There, she meets four other girls, kicking off a delightful slice-of-life comedy centered around their everyday adventures.

The new anime project was actually announced way back in March 2025, but this latest update solidifies its status as a full-fledged theatrical film!
As for the dream team behind it, Hiroyuki Hashimoto, who directed previous seasons, returns as Chief Director. Tensho, known for helming "BLACK★★ROCK SHOOTER DAWN FALL," is taking on both Director and Script duties. And the animation? That's once again handled by Bibury Animation Studio.
Original creator Koi-sensei shared a message:
"I'm genuinely thrilled to see this work presented to everyone in a theatrical film format.
I want to extend my deepest gratitude to all the staff who have worked on the anime series throughout the years, and a heartfelt thank you to the Bibury Animation Studio team for taking on this film production."
"Chief Director Hashimoto, Director Tensho, Assistant Director Nawa, and character designer Akane Yano-sensei—your creativity and passion amaze me every single day. Just like all the fans, I'm eagerly anticipating what kind of 'Is the Order a Rabbit?' this theatrical film will ultimately become!"

Many fans have been patiently waiting for a new "Is the Order a Rabbit?" anime, and who knew it would be hitting the big screen?! The official team has promised more info will drop soon, so keep your eyes peeled for future updates!
