Japan's biggest doujinshi event, Comic Market (Comiket, C107), celebrated its 50th anniversary from December 30-31, drawing massive crowds and a spectacular array of cosplayers showing off their incredible outfits.
Among the sea of costumes, one cosplayer stood out with a truly unique identity: the owner of Tokyo's Ramen Jiro Kameido branch! He specifically attended the second day of C107 dressed as Shima Jiro from "Chiikawa," instantly becoming a sensation. His uncanny resemblance and friendly demeanor had netizens exclaiming, "It's literally him!"

Shima Jiro is the owner of the "Shima Jiro" curry shop on the story's island. Since he doesn't have an official name, fans affectionately call him Shima Jiro. His distinctive look—a muscular older man wearing only an apron—is a stark contrast to the other cute characters, making him incredibly memorable to fans.

Turns out, the Ramen Jiro Kameido owner had previously been teased by friends for looking just like Shima Jiro. Since his friends were running a booth at Comiket, he decided to help out and cosplay at the same time. The result? An absolute smash hit, instantly making him the center of attention!

Another cosplayer at the event commented:
"I saw someone cosplaying who looked exactly like 'the Ramen Jiro Kameido owner, who once cosplayed Shima Jiro from Chiikawa.' I initially just thought, 'Wow, that's an incredible resemblance!' and went to talk to him. Turns out—it actually *was* him! So he really does come to Comic Market... lol."

We have to hand it to this ramen shop owner for being such a good sport! He mentioned that he usually only has time for the year-end Comiket, as running his shop keeps him incredibly busy. So, if you're lucky enough to attend Winter Comiket, you might just run into him again!
