The "LoveLive! School Idol Project" limited unit "AiScReam" absolutely blew up last year with their track "Ai ♡ ScReam!" It went viral on platforms like TikTok and Instagram, even getting dance covers from K-pop giants NMIXX and IVE, cementing its status as a crossover smash hit.
But hold up! Today (2/17), the official announcement dropped: Ai Furihata, voice actress for Ruby Kurosawa and a member of AiScReam, is graduating from the group. The news immediately sent shockwaves through the fandom, leaving many fans heartbroken.
▼ Unsurprisingly, related keywords immediately shot to the top of X's trending topics.
The official statement confirmed that Ai Furihata will officially graduate from AiScReam after the "LoveLive! Series Official Card Game Presents AiScReam's Melting Time ♡" podcast episode airs on March 27, 2026. They also announced that AiScReam will be undergoing a reorganization.
Starting with the April 10, 2026 podcast, two new members will join the existing lineup of Aguri Onishi (Ayumu Uehara) and Wakana Ohkuma (Shiki Wakana). The fresh faces are Miu Miyake, who voices Cielas Yanagida Lilinfield from Hasu no Sora Jogakuin School Idol Club, and Rina Endo, the voice of Mai Azabu from "IKITSURAIBU!". Plus, new songs already in production will be released under the "New AiScReam" banner.
Ai Furihata herself shared a heartfelt graduation message, reflecting on the song's explosion in popularity last year: "Last year, this song reached so many ears, and through Ruby, even more people got to know the 'Love Live!' series. Even though it was a limited-time activity, I truly gained so many valuable experiences during this period, and my heart is full of gratitude. You really never know what life will throw at you!"
She concluded, "Even though Ruby is graduating, I hope all of you (our fans, affectionately known as 'Spoon') will continue to support AiScReam, one spoonful at a time. As long as your voices keep reaching us, maybe one day, our limited-edition flavor might just become a permanent classic, who knows?"
After the news broke, social media absolutely exploded with reactions: "WHAAAAAT?!", "Who saw this coming?!", "Wait, AiScReam has graduations too?", "What's going to happen to the 'R' in AiScReam now...?" The internet was flooded with a mix of shock and sadness.
For many fans, this isn't just a simple member change; it's a bombshell dropped right after the group finally hit it big. What new flavor will the reorganized AiScReam bring? It leaves everyone feeling a mix of anticipation and a little bit of bittersweet nostalgia.
