Japan's oldest beer brand, SAPPORO, with its iconic golden star (Polaris), is a beloved choice for many Japanese beer aficionados.
Today (February 28), SAPPORO announced an exciting collaboration with Neon Genesis Evangelion! They're dropping limited-edition EVA 30th Anniversary SAPPORO Black Label canned beer across Japan on April 7. Featuring awesome designs of Unit-01 and Unit-13, these cans let you savor the premium taste of Black Label's "adult flavor."

For this special can design, the 300ml version showcases Unit-01's profile. But the real showstopper is the 500ml can, featuring an incredibly powerful illustration of Unit-13 specially drawn by Mahiro Maeda, one of the directors of Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time and an original animator for the series. This one is definitely a collector's dream!
The collaboration highlights "SAPPORO Draft Beer Black Label," known for its exquisite balance of rich malt flavor and a crisp, refreshing aftertaste. Its fine, dense foam ensures the aroma and taste remain at their peak. It's the brand's signature "adult flavor," encouraging grown-ups to choose their own draft beer and express their unique taste and attitude.

What's more, the official SAPPORO Black Label online store, "SAPPORO Draft Beer Black Label THE SHOP," is now taking pre-orders for the "Black Label x EVA 30th Anniversary THE BAR GLASS." This special edition beer glass features the EVA 30th Anniversary emblem on the brand's popular "THE BAR GLASS," priced at 8,250 JPY.
SAPPORO has also teased that more special EVA collaboration content will be revealed soon, so keep an eye out!

For those who love collecting these limited-edition collaboration cans, you might need to put in some effort to find a way to get your hands on them. Since these are Japan-exclusive, fans outside Japan will have to hope some specialty Japanese stores manage to import them.
