Many netizens who buy Japanese magazines are usually most interested in the freebies, right? Japanese magazine freebies are incredibly diverse, ranging from bags, watches, and clothes to even figures – each issue outdoing the last!
The super popular Shogakukan publication, Shogaku 8-nensei, dropped its "Shogaku 8-nensei April Issue: Heart-Pounding! Level Up Challenge Edition" today (Feb 26)! This time, it's packing a double dose of awesome with two major "assemble-it-yourself paper model" deluxe freebies from Doraemon the Movie and Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, giving kids (and grown-ups!) a blast!
The "Shogaku 8-nensei April Issue: Heart-Pounding! Level Up Challenge Edition" is all about the philosophy of "creating freebies kids have never experienced before!" Every issue's freebies are always a hot topic. But this time, they've gone even bigger, directly launching collaborative freebies with two massive IPs, guaranteeing fun for all ages!
▼ Doraemon the Movie: Nobita's Great Adventure into the Undersea Castle - Grand Adventure Game
This freebie is themed after "Doraemon the Movie: Nobita's Great Adventure into the Undersea Castle," which premiered on February 27th. It transforms the movie's scenes directly into an interactive game! Players must carefully dodge enemies like giant squid and robotic sharks to successfully pull the underwater vehicle to safety. It feels just like diving straight into the movie!
The model also requires self-assembly, giving kids a unique and fun challenge.
▼ Frieren: Beyond Journey's End - "Maybe It's a Mimic Chest" Challenge
The gameplay is super simple but incredibly thrilling – there are two treasure chests, one is real, and the other might be a biting "mimic." You need to pick the right chest to get the magic book; if you accidentally choose the mimic and get your hand snapped, you lose! It's exactly the kind of mini-game Frieren loves, so now you can experience the same fun she does.
With two epic freebies in one package, whether you're diving into deep-sea adventures or tackling a hero-level chest-picking challenge, this issue is bursting with playfulness. Seriously, "Shogaku 8-nensei" absolutely nailed it this time! If you're interested, you might be able to find it at bookstores that import Japanese magazines.
