Boss Says 'Grab What You Like' at the Convenience Store, Junior Casually Grabs a Pokémon Game

A recent post on X by Japanese user Matsumo (@matsumo1192) has gone viral after they generously told a junior colleague at a convenience store, "It's on me, grab whatever you like!" Matsumo probably expected a coffee or a snack, you know, typical convenience store fare.
But plot twist! The junior turned around and came back with a copy of the "Pokémon" series game, "Pokémon Pokopia"! Matsumo's only reaction? A bewildered cry of, "Is this what Gen Z is like?!"

This unexpected move from the junior absolutely blew up online, with many netizens chiming in. "Seriously, this is too much! Is it just our generation that still has manners?" one user fumed. Another added, "Kids these days just don't know how to be polite anymore."

Some even got nostalgic, lamenting, "You can buy games at convenience stores now... times really have changed. Back in my day, we had to line up at 5 AM just to get 'Dragon Quest IV'!"

Of course, some users questioned if the story was even real. But the original poster insisted it was 100% true, even adding that the game could only be paid for in cash.
However, Matsumo also admitted that seeing their junior so incredibly happy with "Pokémon Pokopia" ultimately made them find the whole thing "kinda cute." In the end, they paid for it, feeling a mix of defeat and affection. What a truly great senior, honestly!
