Foreigner Asks "Is It Awkward to Eat Dessert Alone in Japan?" Fitness Influencer Flexes Response, Netizens Go Wild: "Only See the Biceps!"

A fitness influencer on Japan's X (formerly Twitter) recently posted photos of himself enjoying desserts, sparking an unexpected online frenzy. It all started when a foreign man wondered, "Isn't it awkward to eat dessert alone in Japan?" The influencer confidently replied, "Daijoubu desu" (It's perfectly fine!), assuring everyone it was no big deal.

However, as soon as people saw the pictures, their attention completely veered away from the sweets and straight to his absolutely massive arm muscles.

The photos show the influencer indulging in a matcha parfait, donuts, and pancakes. While the desserts were meant to be the star of the show, his sleeveless top put his bulging arms and defined muscle lines front and center. They were so eye-catching, they practically overshadowed the treats, making it impossible to focus on what he was actually eating at first glance.

The sight even caused some netizens to do a double-take. One person initially thought they spotted a giant cream puff in the photo, only to realize it was the influencer's bicep! Others joked that of course, he had no problem eating dessert, but his incredible physique made it hard not to stare. Some even claimed they couldn't process any dessert information whatsoever.

The influencer later clarified that he doesn't usually eat these kinds of desserts, only enjoying them on days when he "wants to" and "needs to." Normally, he strictly controls his PFC intake—that's the ratio of protein, fat, and carbohydrates in his diet.

But circling back to the original point, the influencer's main message was that there's nothing awkward about a guy eating dessert alone, and there's no need to worry about what others think. It's just that his muscular arms had such a strong presence in the photos, the discussion totally veered off course from the freedom of solo dessert dining!
