Japanese Netizen Sees a 'Beautiful Girl' in a Stone Slab, and Now the Internet Can't Unsee It

Ever stared at a wall, floor, or clouds for so long that the patterns start looking like a face or some other recognizable shape? Well, a Japanese X user recently shared their experience of spotting a "beautiful girl" in a stone slab's pattern.

X user うつ垣(@uturou_adhd) posted a photo, claiming, "I think I saw a beautiful girl in this marble." At first glance, it just looks like an ordinary stone slab, nothing special.

(Though the user called it marble, it's likely granite.)

The user then followed up with an annotated image, simply outlining the contours they saw. Looking back at the original photo, the gray-white area in the middle suddenly looks like a face, the top like a bow, and the sides like hair. Yep, it definitely starts resembling a bow-wearing beautiful girl!

▼ Here's what the user saw!

After the post blew up, other netizens jumped in, offering their own interpretations. Some drew out the contours they saw, while others went full-on character design, completing the "beautiful girl" in various styles.

▼ One netizen, combining the original post with their own vision, drew a bow-wearing beautiful girl with a backpack!

▼ Others saw a beautiful girl with animal ears and twin braids.

▼ And then there was the little witch/succubus-style beautiful girl.

This phenomenon is actually called "pareidolia," where the human brain automatically recognizes familiar shapes in random or ambiguous patterns. Think seeing animals in clouds or faces in wall stains – it's all the same deal.

▼ But hey, not everyone saw a beautiful girl. Some spotted a muscular woman (?!).

▼ And then there's the sleep-deprived salaryman uncle... yikes!

What started as a blurry outline in a stone slab, thanks to the internet's collective imagination, truly brought these "beautiful girls" to life. And once you see them, there's no going back! So, what do you see?
