This marks the first-ever crossover between the two franchises, with characters from both universes making special appearances in each other's TV episodes.
Both franchises simultaneously released a commemorative PV today, offering a sneak peek at the actual crossover footage. What really sent netizens into hysterics was Conan, in classic fashion, whipping out his trusty "wrist-watch tranquilizer gun" and zapping Anna Akechi, the protagonist of "Detective Pretty Cure!". The result? The hilarious birth of "Sleeping Anna," instantly turning this crossover into a viral sensation.
Here's the lowdown on the crossover event:
Conan Edogawa will appear in the "Detective Pretty Cure!" episode airing May 31.
Anna Akechi / Cure Finale will make a guest appearance in the "Detective Conan" episode airing June 6.
The special PV also gives us a miraculous glimpse of characters from both series sharing the screen. Meanwhile, in the "Detective Conan" crossover episode, the Detective Boys head to the "Kaneko Jewelry Store" – their next potential target – to help with security. After tailing a suspicious customer, they successfully pinpoint the crime date and hideout. The police initially believe they've nabbed the entire thief gang, but Ayumi senses something isn't quite right... A mysterious figure seems to be lurking behind them, and then, *poof*!
