Manga artist Kentaro Yabuki, best known for works such as To Love-Ru, BLACK CAT, and Yamato Gensouki, is now nearing 30 years in the industry. Even without a current serialization, Yabuki remains hugely beloved by fans—especially for his standout talent when it comes to drawing female characters.
Yabuki recently took to X to share a self-drawn illustration of Iroha Sakayori from Cosmic Princess Kaguya! He also posted his thoughts after watching the anime, sparking plenty of discussion online.

Yabuki, who has long posted illustrations from time to time and recently opened a personal sub-account, wrote in his post: “I watched Cosmic Princess Kaguya! a little while ago, and I was deeply impressed—not only by how naturally it weaves modern internet culture like VTubers into the story, but also by how carefully the characters are portrayed.”
It was a glowing endorsement that clearly showed how much the film left an impression on him.

Fans were, of course, just as amazed by Yabuki’s drawing skills. Many commented that they never expected to see him illustrate Iroha, making the post an especially exciting surprise for Cosmic Princess Kaguya! fans.

Some fans have already started asking for drawings of other characters as well. With Yabuki actively sharing artwork on his newly launched sub-account, that possibility does not feel too far-fetched.

While Kentaro Yabuki has yet to announce a new serialization, the response and support following the launch of his sub-account make one thing clear: his ability to generate buzz has not faded in the slightest. Lately, even a single illustration of characters from other works is enough to get fans talking, so it will be fun to see what kind of playful and unexpected creations he shares next.
