Now, "Chiikawa" is teaming up with the specialty Baumkuchen brand "Katanukiya" for a brand-new line of "Cut-Out Baumkuchen." Featuring three adorable designs of Chiikawa, Hachiware, and Usagi, these treats will first drop on July 3, 2026, at Chiikawa LAND stores across Japan, followed by a wider release at Katanukiya's Shibuya store starting July 6.
Katanukiya is renowned for its character-themed cut-out Baumkuchen, having previously collaborated with Sanrio stars and Kumamon. Their creations are always a popular choice for souvenirs!
The new "Chiikawa Cut-Out Baumkuchen" builds on Katanukiya's signature style. Each moist, fluffy Baumkuchen base is topped with a layer of meringue-baked white cake, printed with Chiikawa, Hachiware, and Usagi rocking cute little bows. Not only do they look irresistible, but you also get to enjoy the fun of "cutting out" the characters yourself!
The "cut-out" fun means you carefully peel away the surrounding cake to "excavate" the character intact. Successfully extracting a perfect character is incredibly satisfying and totally Instagram-worthy!
